Victor Roo Chrome Pin Badge

£12.00

A Commemorative Victor Roo double butterfly pin badge with a chrome finish, with presentation card.

Badge approx 40mm wide x 32mm high

RAF Binbrook was the home to Royal Australian Air Force 460 Squadron from 1943 till 1945. Flight Lieutenant Thomas Victor Watts, known as Vic, 460 Airman & Artist, painted many of the Squadron‘s nose art.

On one particular Lancaster Bomber (W5005) he painted a kangaroo playing the bagpipes; representing the crew which included Scottish and Australian personnel.

His Church wanted to to commemorate the history and links to Australia and Scotland, so they redesigned Vic’s kangaroo with the bespoke commemorative ‘460 Binbrook Tartan’, and it is now a registered logo as well as live bagpipe playing mascot!
